A Real “Diamond in the
Rough”
Information Center in Harlingen, Texas.
Center, located near Valle Vista
Mall in Harlingen, wins our prize for the
most undiscovered “gem” in the Valley.
If you have never been here, you need to
pay this place a visit. They have free
brochures, maps, magazines and other
goodies from places all around the state
of Texas. It will make you realize what a
diverse and fun state Texas is.
Even Valley natives will be astounded by
the information that is found here. There
are places to see and visit in Texas that
you may not have never thought of until
your interest is piqued by one of their
many brochures.
The way the information is set up is also
interesting and very helpful. It is divvied
up by sections of the state. If, for
example, you are interested in visiting the
Hill Country of Texas, they have a
section for that. Or, maybe the Big
Bend area of West Texas is more to
your liking. They have a section for that,
too. Don’t forget the Marfa Lights!
Brochures are there on this phenomenon,
too.
If the inside of this place is not fascinating
enough, you have to take a look at the
outside. I have included some pictures
so you will see what I mean. There are
picnic areas, a mini citrus orchard, native
trees and shrubs and even a waterfall and
pond. This place is sparkling little jewel in
the middle of highways and the rat race.
Stop by when you get the time. You will
be amazed at what you'll find.
